Brushing teeth and hair

Justin decided to do the kids hair this morning-Madelynn's turned out nice and Fin's...well, you can see he needs a trim. Justin did eventually flatten and part it nicely. :o) They love to brush their teeth though we have we have had some incidents with toothpaste in the past.

Float

I guess you can see the kids in the bottom left corner of the picture

Today was the Potato Festival in Manhattan and I was in charge of the kids and candy for the bank's float. Madelynn and Fin dressed up as a ladybug and frog but of course didn't want their pics taken. They looked really cute and had fun throwing candy to all the kids. We ran out of candy about 3/4 through it and afterward Madelynn kept saying we needed to get more and go back to throw it to the rest of the kids.

What's UP

Fin and William
Dee and William
The kids posing -do you notice Fin's pants? He has been trying do dress himself lately but still hasn't gotten the top and bottom thing. He is wearing a tank top as pants here.

We have been pretty busy since we have been back from our trip. This weekend was the first time I have had two days off in a row so I have been pretty tired. Today was very beautiful so we were able to get a lot of outdoor time finally. We are picking lots of raspberries and the few things I planted in our garden are doing pretty good- the weeds especially! :O) It is great that our neighbors are excellent gardeners and they share with us so it takes a little pressure off my garden. My friend Dee was babysitting this little guy-at the top-for 2 weeks so one day we met at the Dino park to play. This boy is 17 months and is as tall as Fin and feels like he weighs about 10 more pounds but he was a real sweetie.
We went to a wedding of co-worker of Justin's on Saturday-it was at Roy's Barn a beautiful place for weddings at the base of the mountains. They had Johnny Carino's cater and that was delicious-I ate a little too much! There were cows and a horse right by the reception area-the kids really enjoyed that. One gal convinced Madelynn that she needed a pony and now she is asking for one-she says our cat needs a friend. Speaking of our cat, she just had her 4th batch of kittens, conveniently located behind the rose bush. She must not want little fingers poking the kittens this time. :o)

Vacation

Brooks & Dunn-a great concert

Justin and I were able to go on a CHILDLESS five day vacation last week. It was such a treat! At first, it was sort of weird-I have to admit. Justin was putting his arm around me and all I could think was "this is strange-he never does this". And of course he used to always but now our hands are always full so it doesn't happen quite as often as it used too!
Anyway, after the shock of a quiet back seat and having each other all to ourselves- it was quite nice. Friday night we drove to Casper, WY and camped. We found a nice campground in town and put our tent on a nice grassy corner. After getting all situated and almost falling asleep we hear CHUG-A-CHUG-A-CHOO CHOO! Or something like that-basically, a train track was 100 ft or so from our tent! So that was nice background noise every once in awhile for the next 6 hours or so.
After that fitful night of sleep we drove onto Cheyenne and took in Frontier Days. That is quite the event. Thousands of people, a rodeo going on, a Native American Village, a frontier town, carnival, vendors and lots of other stuff. We were even able to see a semi-celebrity -we were at the Native American place watching a pow-wow and the announcer said that Dog the Bounty Hunter was in the crowd-he looked exactly as he does on the show but wasn't all dressed in black or have a taser on him. That night we went to the Brooks & Dunn concert which was a lot of fun too! After the concert, we headed to Ft Collins for the night. On Sunday, we headed to Boulder and just lazed around. Monday we hit the water park in Denver and then downtown Boulder-both were very entertaining. Tuesday we went to the Denver zoo and a Rockies game. The zoo was so fun-the animals actually move! The Rockies was also fun but I missed both home runs. :o(
It was all great and I think we may have to try this again next year or maybe this fall if only for a night! ;O)
A big thanks to my parents and Jackie for being brave and taking the kids!

Kalispell

I found a friend
He is pretty hip
The Seelye Ladies (do you see MJ in the background?)
The cousins~Justin, Ryan, Jonathan, and Corey
(can you tell Justin got the Skillman traits?)

Allard Lorraine Seelye

Allard Lorraine Seelye went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2010. He was very special to Justin and Justin has many fond memories and stories about his Grandpa. Finley's middle name is in honor of him. We were able to go to the funeral and see many of Justin's relatives. It was wonderful to have Aunt Melody there from Ireland, cousin Ryan there from D.C, and cousin Corey from Germany. The funeral was very special and at the burial they had a veteran's salute. It was very touching.
